Waking up

And seeing you by my side

All feels right

In my mind

And now I know

What love feels like

I am never alone 

Since I met you that night

I was sitting at the pub

Drinking my whiskey and being shy

You were laughing and having fun

On your Friday girls' night

And as you walk to the bar

I am contemplating if I talk to you

Deciding do I say hi or hey

Am I gonna mess up this too

It takes all the courage in me

To strike up a conversation 

I buy you a drink 

We make plans for later

I didn’t sleep all night

And I can’t stop smiling 

Playing memories in my mind

Of the perfect night

I reach early for the first time 

Waiting for you at the diner

Fidgeting with my hands 

And sweats in my palms

You walk looking drop-dead gorgeous 

I pull the chair for you

And ask for the waiter 

I know it’s not usual

But I brought these pink carnations 

We walk for an hour

As the chilly winds blow

Was it as amazing for you

As it was for me too?

You walked into my life

By a surprise 

And life started to make sense 

like I was finally complete

Found the piece that I missing

Nothing has brought me more happiness 

Than loving you

And that’s all I wanna do

I wish I could express this in words

The mountains I am willing to climb

The Dragons I am willing to slay

There’s nothing I wouldn’t do or say

I would jump when you jump

I will never hurt you or doubt your love

I don’t remember anymore

What life was like before us

And now this high I feel

Better than any drug there is

Are you really there

Or am I hallucinating?

I see you everywhere I go

I miss you every time I am alone

But I promised you

On the very first night  

That I will never lie 

and I will never take you for granted

Or leave you on the dance floor alone

You bring out the best in me

The side that I didn’t know existed

I am a better man because of you
